Metropolitan Leonid performs first priestly and diaconal ordinations in the history of the African Exarchate

On 18th December 2022, 27th Sunday after Pentecost, the commemoration day of St Savva the Sanctified, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Resurrection in Rabat, Morocco.

During the divine service, Deacon Herman Edyangu from Uganda was ordained priest, and Sergy Voyemawa from the Central African Republic was ordained deacon.

Metropolitan Leonid also signed antimensions to be delivered to parishes in several African countries.

The Liturgy was followed by a concert performed by the Sunday school pupils and by a meeting of the archpastor with the parishioners and compatriots.

Later that day Metropolitan Leonid visited Russia’s Embassy. During a meeting with representatives of the Russian diplomatic mission, he highlighted some major tasks facing the Patriarchal Exarchate and answered questions from those present.
