Twenty-five people are baptized in Malawi

On December 16, twenty-five locals in Mtondoko settlement, Zomba District in Malawi, became members of the Church of Christ, website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports.

The Sacrament of Baptism was celebrated by the dean, Rev. George Chabwera, rector of the parish Rev. Ezekiel Chikaonda, and Rev. Timothy Chintenga.

Fr Timothy says that the period of catechization took seven months. Conversations before baptism were held by Fr George and Fr Timothy.

On the same day, a meeting of Orthodox women of the deanery took place at the parish. Discussed were the role of women in the Church and problems of parish life.
