Metropolitan Leonid of Klin met with the leader of the non-canonical Church of Cameroon

On September 25, 2023, at the Patriarchal Metochion of the Church of All Saints in Kulishki in Moscow, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, met with David Queen, the “bishop” of the non-canonical Church of Cameroon.

The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov.

“David came to Russia to find the Russian Orthodox Church here,” Metropolitan Leonid wrote in his telegram channel.

“David Queen’s diocese has twenty priests, nuns, seminarians, seven parishes, a monastery and cathedral under construction in Douala, as well as over a thousand parishioners.” He says that many people from his community are disappointed with the unhealthy moral phenomena prevailing in the non-canonical jurisdiction, centered in France, to which they now belong. They are looking for a true Church with a firm apostolic and biblical tradition,” the Archbishop added.

“And he has come to the right place! At today’s meeting, we discussed concrete steps to begin a thorough catechization of the community, after the successful completion of which, their admission to the Russian Orthodox Church will be considered,” concluded Metropolitan.
