Daily cycle of divine services translated into Swahili

With the blessing of Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, archimandrite Zacharias (Mulingwa) fr om Tanzania, a student of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, translated the daily cycle of divine services into Swahili, the Exarchate’s website reports.

Archpriest Tigriy Khachatryan, Exarch’s assistant for religious education and catechesis, helped to print the service book in Swahili at the VIP Publishing House in Kursk.

Archimandrite Zacharias went to Tanzania for summer holidays. On August 3 and 4, he visited the parish of St. Nicholas the Miracleworker in the city of Iringa and the educational center in Kisarawe District, wh ere he handed over the service books and took part in the services.

Fr Zacharias shared with the clergy his knowledge and experience of celebrating services in accordance with tradition of the Russian Orthodox Church.

For the first time ever, the clergy and parishioners of the Exarchate’s parishes in Tanzania have the opportunity to celebrate divine services in mother tongue.
