On October 29, 2023, the 21st Sunday after Pentecost, Acting Patriarchal exarch of Africa Bishop Konstantin of Zaraisk celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of St.Philip of Moscow in the Meshchanskaya Sloboda in Moscow.
During the Liturgy, John Shilesi from Kenya was ordained deacon.
The liturgical practice of Father John will take place in the church of St. Philip.
Father John graduated from the seminary in Nairobi, as well as one-year online theological courses at the Moscow Theological Academy and two-month training courses for priests at the Synodal Missionary Department. For many years, he carried the duty of a reader, and catechist, and worked with Sunday schools. In Kenya, in Vihiga County, his wife and five children are waiting for him.
