Patriarchal Exarch of Africa visits Central Deanery parishes in Kenya

On 12th August 2024, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, visited several parishes within the Central Deanery of the Southern Africa Diocese in Kenya.

The hierarch was accompanied by Priest George Maximov, chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa; Priest James Karanja, dean of the Central Church District; and Reader V.V. Dendyuk, His Eminence’s personal secretary.

The delegation visited St. Catherine and St. Panteleimon Parishes in a suburb of Nairobi, as well as the Parish of St. George the Victory-Bearer in Ngamba village, Kiambu county, and St. Lazarus Parish in Limuru village, Kiambu county.

Metropolitan Konstantin greeted the faithful and gave them his archpastoral exhortation and blessing. All parishioners were presented with icons and crosses.

St. Panteleimon Parish has a primary school. Studying there are 120 children. Some of its teachers and pupils are doing a catechism course in preparation for the baptism.

Metropolitan Konstantin made a donation, which was used to buy foodstuffs for the schoolchildren, and met with the school administration and pupils.
