On March 23, 2026, the 4th Sunday of Great Lent and the feast day of Saint John Climacus, the parish of the same name in Cape Town (Republic of South Africa) celebrated its patronal feast.

The rector of the parish, Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen, and the rector of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos parish in Rondebosch, Priest Jacob Smuts, celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

The hymns were sung in English, Church Slavonic and Xhosa.

Believers from both parishes participated in the service.

After the Liturgy, a procession was held with the reliquary containing a piece of the holy relics of St John Climacus. Afterwards, all those present were invited to a festive meal.
