Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa held a meeting of the clergy of South Africa

On the 19th of January 2024, the Feast of the Theophany, after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy and the Rite of the Great Consecration of Water in the Church of St. John of the Ladder in Cape Town, the Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Bishop Constantine of Zaraisk held a general meeting of the clergy of the Exarchate serving in South Africa.

The topics concerning the further arrangement of parishes and the development of parish life were discussed. Bishop Constantine paid special attention to the need for interaction between the South African clergy in the spirit of fraternal mutual help and support. The Bishop then answered numerous questions from the clergy.

The meeting was attended by Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Affairs, who was on a visit to South Africa with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk.

On the same day, Bishop Constantine’s pastoral visit to South Africa was completed and he left for Moscow. The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town, A.V. Malenko, saw him off at the airport.
