Please accept my heartfelt greetings on your 65th birthday.
You are well known throughout the world not only as the leader of Tunisia, but also as a prominent scholar and public figure, concerned with various matters pertaining to the system of government. It is gratifying to note that today the country under your leadership continues to move steadily along the path of socio-economic reforms.
For many years Russia and Tunisia have been maintaining good relations, and the recently established Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church is meant to make an important contribution to their further development. I hope that the leadership of the Tunisian Republic and the Exarchate will be promoting bilateral cooperation aimed at addressing spiritual needs of society.
On this memorable day I wish you inexhaustible strength and success in your lofty and responsible service, and I wish welfare and peace to the people of Tunisia.
