Uganda is one of Russia’s key partners in Africa, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during his meeting with Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in St. Petersburg. As the Russian leader pointed out, the two countries develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation, as well as contacts in humanitarian sphere.
“Plans have been outlined to open a Russian religious and educational centre,” Mr Putin said.
“We carry on training specialists for Uganda. Some four thousand people from Uganda have received education in Russia,” he added.
The meeting between Vladimir Putin and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni took place within the framework of the Second Russia–Africa Summit which is being held in St. Petersburg on 27th-28th July 2023.
