Russian Orthodox Church mission in the Togolese Republic is developing

“The mission in Togo is developing successfully”, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, said in his Telegram channel.

Priest Boris Pitasso became the first priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Togolese Republic. He was ordained by Metropolitan Leonid of Klin on 13th April 2023 at the Church of All Saints in Kulishki in Moscow.

After completing his studies in Russia, Fr. Boris returned to Togo, where he established a house church in the capital of the country, Lomé.

“A community quickly gathered around the priest, and more and more Togolese people are becoming interested in the Orthodox faith. Our compatriots in Togo are equally pleased to have a priest and pastoral care in the Russian Orthodox Church”, the Metropolitan noted.
