On 18th December 2024 the Patriarchal exarch for Africa the metropolitan of Zaraisk Constantine arrived in Uganda. Accompanying him on his trip were the chairman of the missionary department of the Patriarchal exarchate for Africa Father Georgy Maximov and his personal secretary the reader V. V. Dendyuk.
On 19th December on Saint Nicholas Day metropolitan Constantine celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the archangel Michael in the village of Goulu (northern deanery). Serving with the bishop were Father Georgy Maximov, the dean of the northern church district Father Benjamin Odjok and clerics of the deanery.
At the end of the Liturgy the Patriarchal exarch of Africa delivered a sermon to the flock.
After the service a concern by the parish faithful was held in honour of the bishop’s visit.
Then metropolitan Constantine distributed diplomas to the successful graduates of online courses run by the Moscow Theological Academy, reports the website of the exarchate.
On the same day under the chairmanship of metropolitan Constantine a general assembly of the clergy of the deanery was held. During the conversation issues concerning the education of the clerics and laity, the pastoral care of the faithful, and the organization and development of parish life were touched upon. At the conclusion of the meeting the metropolitan handed out gifts, including Orthodox literature in English.
