On March 24, 2026, the rector of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Port Louis, Archpriest Dimitri Matienko, took part in the Annual General Meeting of the Mauritius Council of Religions.
The event was attended by representatives of various religious communities on the island.
Participants discussed issues of mutual interest and elected a new president of the Council and members of the Executive Committee for a two-year term.
Also, on March 22, the annual meeting of the members of the Association of the Russian Orthodox Church in Mauritius was held at the church of the Transfiguration, chaired by Archpriest Dimitry.
The meeting reviewed the organization’s activities over the past year and discussed current tasks and plans for future work.
