On the 27th of July, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantine of Zaraisk, arrived with a delegation to the city of Lubumbashi (Democratic Republic of Congo). On the same day, a meeting was held with the dean of the Southern Church District, Priest Nicholas Musoya.
On 28 July, the day of the commemoration of the Great Prince Vladimir, Metropolitan Konstantine celebrated the Divine Liturgy in this city. The bishop was joined by the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maksimov, the dean, Priest Nicholas Musoya, and the clergy of the neighbourhood.
The service was conducted in French, Swahili and Church Slavonic, the website of the Exarchate reported.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantine addressed an archpastoral word to those praying.
Priest Nicholas, on behalf of the clergy and parishioners, welcomed Vladyka and presented him with a commemorative gift.
At the end of the service, all those present were handed out little icons and crosses.
On the same day, Metropolitan Konstantine held a meeting of the clergy of the neighbourhood, at which a number of issues of parish life were discussed. Priest George Maximov also participated in the meeting.
Then the bishop spoke to the local youth, among whom there were those who wanted to serve the Church. They were able to ask the Bishop all the questions they were interested in.
