On October 1, 2023, the 17th Sunday after Pentecost, after the Exaltation, at the church of St. John of the Ladder in Cape Town (South Africa), the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the priest Rev. Nicholas Esterhuizen.
After the service, the marriage of Agatha and Isaac, representatives of the African Xhosa people, took place. The couple was married by Fr. Nicholas.
The bride and groom chose traditional Xhosa dresses, and after the wedding, the bride’s family performed several traditional folk songs and dances for the groom.
