Humanitarian aid provided to Orthodox Christians in the Southern Deanery of Madagascar

On June 12–13, 2026, humanitarian aid was provided to Orthodox believers suffering from hunger in the Southern Deanery of Madagascar. As a result of a prolonged drought, the soil has failed to yield a harvest, and local residents have found themselves on the brink of survival.

With the support of donors from Russia, 2 tons of rice, as well as vegetable oil, were purchased and distributed to those in need.

The distribution of aid was supervised by the dean of the district, Priest Nicholas Ramaroson.

Approximately 90 families received assistance at the parishes of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the city of Belambo and the Great Martyr Barbara in the village of Tanamilihitse.
