Metropolitan Konstantin celebrated the Liturgy at the Parish of St. Mark the Apostle in the Homabay Deanery (Kenya)

On August 23, 2026, the 12th Sunday after Pentecost, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of St. Mark the Apostle in the village of Sanjweru (Homabay Deanery) in Kenya.

Concelebrating with the Exarch were the dean of the district, Priest Angelos Oribe; the parish rector, Priest John Okinda; and clergy from the deanery.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin delivered an archpastoral address and presented the parish with a set of Aër. All those gathered were given neck crosses.

After the service, His Eminence blessed the motorcycles that had been donated to the clergy with the support of donors from Russia. As in other deaneries in Kenya, cows were also presented to the clergy.

Metropolitan Konstantin then held a general pastoral meeting, during which current issues regarding parish activities and further development were discussed.

The archpastor then visited the parishes of the Apostle Barnabas in the village of Kibwer and of Saint Nektarios of Aegina in the village of Godkeyo, where he had warm interactions with the clergy and parishioners.

The day before, on August 22, Metropolitan Konstantin visited the parish of the Apostle Barnabas in the village of Aorachuodo, which operates an elementary school. His Eminence greeted the parishioners and students, presented the community with incense, and gave the children a matryoshka doll.

The bishop inspected the new school building, constructed with the assistance of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, as well as the parish farm, where various crops are grown. At the farm, His Eminence planted and watered a tree.

Also at this parish, the Exarch conducted interviews with those wishing to study at the theological seminary.

To conclude the trip, Metropolitan Konstantin arranged for the purchase of office equipment for all the deaneries in Kenya, which is necessary for their daily work.
