Patriarchal Exarch of Africa meets with Mayor of Ambohitrimanjaka town in Madagascar

On 24th March 2025, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraysk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, met with Mr Jaon Andrianarivo, Mayor of the town of Ambohitrimanjaka in Madagascar.

Taking part in the meeting were also Mr I.S. Likhachev, attaché of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Madagascar; representatives of Friends of Russia in Madagascar Association; Priest George Maximov, chairman of the Exarchate’s Missionary Department; Priest Basil Randrianaivo, dean of the Northern Church District in Madagascar; Priest Prodrom Andriamihaja, new cleric of the Exarchate of Africa; and Reader V.V. Dendyuk, personal secretary to Metropolitan Konstantin.

Mayor Jaon Andrianarivo had studied in the USSR and speaks Russian fluently. He is also a member of Friends of Russia in Madagascar Association.

Metropolitan Konstantin told the Mayor about the Exarchate’s activities in Madagascar and introduced to him Priest Prodrom Andriamihaja, who had been received to the Russian Orthodox Church by the Exarch not long ago.

The participants in the meeting discussed various matters of potential cooperation.

To conclude the meeting, Metropolitan Konstantin and Mayor Andrianarivo exchanged memorable gifts.
