On 14th June 2023, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Gabon by Rev. George Maximov, chair of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.
Later on the same day, at the invitation of H.E. Mr Ilias Iskandarov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Gabonese Republic, Fr. George delivered a lecture on Orthodoxy in Africa for the Embassy staff in Libreville.
During a meeting with Mr Iskandarov, Rev. George Maximov told the Russian Ambassador about humanitarian and educational projects of the Patriarchal Exarchate and thanked him for a warm welcome.
