Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa visits South African Republic

On January 11, Bishop Konstantin of Zaraisk, Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa began his visit to the South African Republic. Accompanying him with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relation (DECR), is hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian Relations.

Meeting them at Johannesburg airport was archpriest Daniil Lugovoy, rector of the local church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

Bishop Konstantin is paying a pastoral visit. The programme includes visits to the parishes of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in the South African Republic, divine services, meetings with clergymen and lay persons, as well as other events.

Upon arrival, Bishop Konstantin visited the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, saw a complex of church premises, and had talks with the rector.
