On October 1, 2026, in Moscow, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, took part in a strategic session titled “Russia–Africa: Defining the Architecture of Cooperation,” organized by the “African Initiative” to mark the agency’s third anniversary.
The event gathered together representatives of Russian government agencies, diplomatic missions, the business community, and expert circles.
Opening the session, the agency’s editor-in-chief, Artem Kureev, emphasized the importance of discussing the challenges of cooperation with the continent ahead of the third Russia–Africa Summit. Participants shared their views on how Russia should structure its cooperation with Africa in future.
Speaking about missionary work, the head of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa noted that, despite successes, Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa face serious challenges, including in the organizing of social and educational activities in countries across the continent.
After the event, the hierarch held a meeting with staff members of the “African Initiative” to discuss the development of joint cooperation between the Exarchate and the news agency throughout Africa.
