On August 15, 2026, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Life-Giving Trinity parish in the city of Naivasha, within the Central Deanery of Kenya.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were Priest Georgy Maximov, Chairman of the Exarchate’s Missionary Department; Archimandrite Sotirios (Matumbi), Dean of the district; Priest Jairo Atieli, Acting Dean of the Eastern Deanery of Kenya; Priest Sampson Gutu, Rector of the parish; and other clergy of the deanery.
During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin ordained the ordinand Laurent Beugre from Côte d’Ivoire to the diaconate.
Following the service, the hierarch greeted the parish rector, Priest Sampson Gutu, who had undergone training in 2024 through courses for ordinands of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa and had previously been ordained by Metropolitan Konstantin in Moscow.
Vladyka addressed the faithful with a pastoral word and presented the parish with a set of liturgical veils, while distributing small crosses and icons to the congregation.
After the service, Vladyka personally visited the flooded area where parishioners reside; the water level in Lake Naivasha has been steadily rising, inundating many streets. Earlier this year, the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa provided humanitarian aid to local residents.
That same day, Metropolitan Konstantin visited the Parish of St. Nektarios of Aegina in the village of Nyabini, home to the Apostle Barnabas Educational Center. The educational institution’s operations are supported by the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage. The hierarch familiarized himself with the center’s activities and spoke with the parish rector, Priest Methodius Kariuki, and his assistants, presenting them with prayer ropes.
At this parish, the Exarch held a general meeting of the clergy from the Central Deanery to discuss current parish operations and future development.
With the support of donors from Russia, the clergy were presented with cows and motorcycles.
To conclude the day, Metropolitan Konstantin visited the Parish of St. Mary of Egypt in the village of Mutonyora. He greeted the rector, Priest John Wanjomo, and members of the community, delivered an archpastoral address, and presented a commemorative gift to the parish. Pectoral crosses and small icons were distributed to all the faithful.
