The patronal feast was celebrated at the Church of St. Mary of Egypt in Robertson (South Africa)

On March 29, 2026, the 5th Sunday of Great Lent and the feast day of St. Mary of Egypt, the eponymous church in Robertson, Western Cape Province, South Africa, celebrated its patronal feast.

The evening before, the Great Vespers was served at the church. The rector of the parish, Archimandrite Zacharias (van Wyk), was assisted by the rector of the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in Rondebosch, Priest Jacob Smuts.

The service was attended by parishioners of the church, the rector of the Parish of St. John Climacus in Cape Town, Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen, along with the faithful and other guests.

On Sunday, Archimandrite Zacharias celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

After the Liturgy, everyone was invited to a festive meal.
