Prayer books in Tiv language delivered to believers in Nigeria

Orthodox Christians in Nigeria have received prayer books in Tiv – an official language in Benue State.

The books were delivered by Archimandrite Niphon (Hule), rector of St James Parish in Adikpo town, Benue State, dean for the parishes of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in Nigeria.

“The parish priest has expressed his heartfelt gratitude, for these prayer books will help his parishioners to intensify their prayer life and bring it into conformity with the Orthodox tradition,” Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, wrote in his Telegram channel, “There are few publications in Tiv, and by this prayer book we’ve made our contribution to the preservation and promotion of the African language as a literary one.”
