On April 12, 2026, the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ, Priest George Maximov, head of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, celebrated the Easter Divine Liturgy at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Guinea.
The service was attended by A.V. Popov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Guinea.
The festive service brought together the staff of the diplomatic mission, Russian compatriots living in Guinea, as well as Orthodox Christians from a number of other countries.
After the service, Father George congratulated all those gathered on the feast of the glorious Resurrection of Christ and blessed the traditional Easter foods.
The day before, on Great Saturday, Priest George celebrated Matins with the rite of the Burial of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In the evening, the Midnight Service, a prayer service with the blessing of water, and the Sacrament of Confession were performed for all who wished to partake.
On April 12, following the Easter service, Father George spoke with Ambassador A.V. Popov and took part in a festive meal. During the meeting, they discussed further steps for developing the Orthodox presence and providing spiritual care for the compatriots in Guinea.
