From March 11 to 22, 2026, in Mozambique, Father Christos Sitoe, rector of the Holy Trinity Parish in Maputo, visited a number of communities of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in the Molumbo District (Zambézia Province) and the Micanhelas District (Niassa Province).
The priest conducted catechetical talks, celebrated services, performed the sacrament of Holy Unction, and blessed the homes of parishioners.
On March 15, the 3rd Sunday of Great Lent, the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, Father Christos celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Great Martyr Catherine in Zambezia.
After the service, a prayer service for the blessing of water was held.
The priest spoke with the parishioners and also prayed for a sick infant and anointed him with holy oil.
In Niassa, Father Christos visited the parishes of St. Mary of Egypt, St. Thomas the Apostle, and the Nativity of John the Baptist. The rector of these parishes is Priest Gregory Wyson.
On March 22, the 4th Sunday of Great Lent, the feast day of St. John Climacus and the 40 martyrs who suffered in Lake Sebaste, the clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist.
