On April 22, 2026, in Abidjan, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, met with A.E. Saltykov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov; the Metropolitan’s personal secretary, Reader V.V. Dendyuk; and embassy staff.
During the conversation, issues related to the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Côte d’Ivoire were discussed.
Earlier that day, within the embassy, Metropolitan Konstantin performed a prayer service for the blessing of water and a memorial service.
Staff members of the diplomatic mission participated in the service.
