Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Visits Zimbabwe for the First Time

The Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Metropolitan of Cairo and North Africa, has begun his first visit to Zimbabwe. This marks the 25th African country the hierarch has visited during his ministry on the continent.

On April 15, 2026, His Eminence arrived in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. The Archbishop is accompanied by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, Dean of the parishes of the South African Diocese in South Africa and Rector of St. Sergius Cathedral in Johannesburg, and the Metropolitan’s personal secretary, Reader V.V. Dendyuk.

On the same day, Metropolitan Konstantin met with H.E. N.V. Krasilnikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Zimbabwe and to the Republic of Malawi.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa and Embassy staff.

The hierarch congratulated the Russian diplomat on the feast of Holy Pascha and presented him with an Easter egg.

The meeting addressed issues related to the development of the Russian Orthodox Church’s activities in the country.
