On August 13, 2026, Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch for Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of St. Gregory the Theologian in Ngarendare (Meru Deanery), Kenya.
His Eminence was assisted by the district dean, Priest Theoklit Kitinji, the parish rector, Priest Theophil Mwenda, and all the clergy of the deanery.
Following the service, the bishop addressed those gathered with an archpastoral sermon, presented the parish with an oil lamp, and presented crosses and icons to all the worshipers.
Following the Liturgy, Metropolitan Konstantin blessed the foundation stone for the new church dedicated to St. Gregory the Theologian.
Then the Exarch visited the parishes of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Gitongo and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kiambogo. The bishop spoke with the rectors and faithful of the community and presented the parishes with church icons.
That same day, a general meeting of the clergy of the Meru deanery was held. Metropolitan Konstantin discussed with the clergy the activities of the parishes and the development of the mission in Kenya.
With the support of donors from Russia, all the clergy were presented with motorcycles and cows for pastoral and family needs.
