From July 12 to 16, 2026, the Dean of the Central Ecclesiastical District of Cameroon, Priest Paul Atangana, along with clergy members of the district—Priests Vincent Sina and Isaac Soumassou—visited a number of parishes of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in northern Cameroon and Chad, where they baptized many local residents.
On July 12, the feast day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, twenty people received the sacrament of Baptism at the Sts. Peter and Paul parish in the village of Dobinga (Northern Province) in Cameroon.
On July 15, 63 people were baptized, and two more were received into the Orthodox Church through the sacrament of Chrismation. In another community in Chad during those days, another 65 people were baptized, including the village elder.
The following day, July 16, 32 more residents were baptized in the city of Guén. One person was received into Orthodoxy through Chrismation.
The overwhelming majority of the catechumens were animists. After receiving Baptism, the community elders and other newly baptized expressed their joy at joining the Church of Christ.
