On April 23, 2026, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Metropolitan Konstantin of Cairo and North Africa visited Yamoussoukro, the capital of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, where he toured the city’s landmarks.
On that day, the hierarch, together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Côte d’Ivoire, A.E. Saltykov, met with the President of the High Authority for Good Governance in Côte d’Ivoire, Chairman of the Regional Council of the Marahoué Department, Zoro Epiphane Ballo.
The meeting was attended by staff of the Russian Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire, the Prefect of the Sinfra Department, the General Secretaries of the Prefectures of Sinfra and Bouaflé, Deputy Prefects, members of the local Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Chief Imam of the Bouaflé Mosque, and an Association of pastors from the Marahoué region, as well as a Catholic nun from the Congregation of Notre-Dame de la Charité d’Évron.
Also participating from the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa were the Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov; clergy of the West African Deanery led by the Dean, Priest Parthénios Dansou; and the Metropolitan’s secretary, Reader V.V. Dendyuk.
The delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church was received with exceptional warmth and hospitality. The guests became acquainted with the rich culture of the Marahoué region and its contemporary situation. Possible avenues for cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Metropolitan Konstantin presented Zoro Epiphane Ballo, who is an Orthodox Christian, with an Easter egg. In turn, the statesman presented the Exarch and the guests with traditional commemorative gifts.
